I'm Tia.

(she/her)

 You spend a lot of time with your photographer on your wedding day-
It's crucial to work with someone you align with.
That said, I want you to feel like you know exactly who you're getting when you book with me, so here's what you should know.

My values guide the way I live my life and run my business so I want to start by being very clear.
Black Lives Matter. Trans Lives Matter. Abolish ICE.

People of all races, genders, and sizes deserve to have their love celebrated genuinely and loudly.
All people deserve to see themselves represented in a photographer's portfolio.
Weddings are, by nature, political. Silence from the vendors facilitating them is unacceptable.
Now more than ever, we must protect each other and foster the community we need. No one else will do it for us.

Words are not enough when it comes to inclusivity.

In the last decade of working in weddings, I've seen the ways the industry has failed couples in terms of allyship and advocacy.

Being an inclusive vendor is not simply being willing to take money from anyone.

To me, inclusivity in my industry is in learning the history of the venues before agreeing to work there.
It's in learning how to photograph and edit all skin colors accurately in any lighting scenario.
It's unlearning heteronormative posing.
It's learning the value systems of the other vendors I recommend so that I know my clients are safe and celebrated.
Most importantly, it's in the community building, the conversations, and the work that happens when there's no money on the line.

I'm so thankful for my community of vendors who not only support each other but are committed to always learning how we can better show up for our LGBTQ+ and BIPOC clients.

As Your Photographer, I Try to Put Myself in Your Shoes.

// my approach

One of my recent resolutions for myself was to bring a camera everywhere I go (and my phone doesn't count). I've been mostly shooting different film mediums because it pushes me to be more intentional and present in my everyday life. It's the very same practice I'm keeping in mind when I arrive on a wedding day.

When I'm able to save the smallest memories I have with people I love, it reminds me of the beautiful parts of being human.

That's the feeling I hope to give you too.

No faked moments. No shot list needed. Just you being the most honest version of yourself with the people you love.

Your gallery is a time capsule and an heirloom, crafted to remind you exactly how your day felt as the years go by.

// who I am

IMG_6534.jpg

I've lived in Baltimore's Hampden neighborhood for nearly 5 years and love it here with my entire being.

Living in a place that's infused with so much art is a constant source of inspiration.

I'm obsessed with all things Talking Heads, Twin Peaks, and a whole lot of reality TV.

I take weekly pole dance classes, cook dinner for my friends as often as I can, and will never say no to a night at home playing board games with my fiancé and snuggling our cat Goose and our puppy Ruby.
